Band T-Shirt Tuesday: The Cribs

Every Tuesday, I’m going to bring you on a visual journey through my 100s of band/artist tees! Brandi’s Band T-Shirt Tuesday! Follow along at #BrandisBandTees! 🎶👕🤘🏻

Helloooooo down there! Another band #TShirtTuesday comin’ atcha, featuring @TheCribs!

The Cribs might be the second artist I’ve seen most live, as I’ve caught them every album cycle in America in either Philly or NYC, except for their self-titled debut in 2004…not sure if they made it here for that, tbh. Either way, they were my second concert ever in 2005 for their album The New Fellas (I was 15..I bought this shirt there), which included Kaiser Chiefs & The Redwalls on the bill.

There’s nothing more amazing that being a part of a band’s artistic journey from start-to-present. Late 2020, the band released their eighth studio album Night Network, and damn, what an amazing piece, self-produced by the band. That’s that artistic-journey-shit I’m talking about!!

I can’t wait until I can see them live again and bounce around in the front row!

Fun story while I have you all here: When I was 16, their third studio album ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’ was released, and they were playing at Johnny Brenda’s, a bar in Philly. I emailed the bar manager about attending soundcheck ‘cos I wasn’t old enough to attend the show, and she totes let me and my friend @robwil in. What a magical moment. They took a request each, and hung out with us for a bit, and thought it was bollocks that there’s an age limit on rocking out in America! I’ll never forget..they played me “Things You Should Be Knowing,” and messed up, ‘cos it’s not a normal one for them to play live. 😍

Rock on! 🤘🏻
